Mercury 2+
Intrinsically safe certified (IS)
Designed for use in Hazardous Areas, its rugged construction and Intrinsically Safe certification enable it to be used in Zone 0 (Div 1) locations, in the presence of flammable vapors and gases, within an operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. Mercury 2+ supports both Wiegand and Proximity Card Readers. This unit is available with keypad display only or in combination with one of our two card readers, Wiegand or Proximity. We offer a number of different standard keypad configurations as well the option to customize your own for a small additional cost.
Non-Intrinsically certified (non-is)
Rugged construction similar features as the IS M2+ except can only be installed in non-hazardous area.
Non-IS M2+ is offered with either RS232 or RS422-RS485 option. It also supports both Wiegand and Proximity Card Readers. This unit is available with keypad display only or in combination with one of our two card readers, Wiegand or Proximity. We offer a number of different standard keypad configurations as well the option to customize your own for a small additional cost.
R507 I.S. Interface Module
A Safe Area DIN rail mounted device which provides the intrinsically safe power and communications signals to the Mercury 2+, Mercury 2e and Sentry Card Reader in hazardous areas.
Security Access Cards
In these challenging times using cards for security access to your plants or sites is becoming a very common way to control and track access to sensitive areas.
The most common types of security access cards are:
WIEGEND – Using Wiegend technology cards nned to be swipeddirectly through sensors.
PROXIMITY – Proximity cards need only be held near a sensor pad to be read.
However, in some cases it is required to leave either the Wiegand or Proximity access card in the reader until sequence is complete. Card removal signifies the end of the process.
For even higher security, cards can be custom-printed with id numbers and a company logo, which allows a security guard to check that people are using the correct company card for security access in addition to the site specific intrinsic id.
Sentry Card Readers
Intrinsically safe certified (IS)
For the necessary protection and control of personnel access, the Sentry card reader like the M2+ is also designed for operation in the most hazardous (Zone 0 / Div 1) and harsh environments. Power and communication is provided through IS Barrier.
Similar to M2+, IS Sentry models are available to read the Card Serial Number* from a range of different card technologies – including Mifare, HID and EM4001 (or compatible) Proximity cards.
The Sentry Card Reader also an option to support the industry standard Wiegand output format, allowing easy integration with most control systems.
Non-Intrinsically certified (non-is)
Rugged construction similar features as the IS Sentry, except can only be installed in non-hazardous area.
Mercury 2e
Mercury 2e are not manufactured anymore and can be swapped with Mercury 2+ without any changes to wiring and communication software. Mercury 2+ has many additional features, including backlit display.
